Survivor China - Meet The Contestants

A grave digger, a Christian talk radio host, a chicken farmer and a WWE wrestler lead the newly announced castaways for CBS' "Survivor: China."

The 15th installment of the Mark Burnett-produced CBS staple will premiere on Thursday, Sept. 20 in an episode that finds the castaways starting in downtown Shanghai and moving to HuangPu Mountain's Mi Tuo Temple for a Buddhist ceremony. Then the castaways will be placed on separate islands on the Zhelin Lake in the Jiangxi Province.
Each tribe will be given a copy of Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" for motivation and assistance.

Brilliant or vaguely racist? We'll leave it to the castaways and host Jeff Probst to decide

In case you're curious, the WWE wrestler is Ashley, winner of the 2005 RAW Diva Search. She was also on the cover of the April 2007 issue of Playboy, according to her bio.
The chicken farmer? None other than Chicken Morris, who is also this season's oldest contestant at 47.
And not only does Leslie host a mid-morning radio show on Christian talk radio, but she was also represented North Carolina in 2001's Mrs. USA pageant.
Based on a quick skim of the other contestants, we're looking forward to seeing how Jean-Robert's professional poker skills will play in the wilderness, much less how Frosti will convert his parkour athleticism to a more rural environment.

BB8 Sunday Episode Recap 08/19/07

Dick feels that he pulled off a real coup. Jessica is happy to have him gone from a strategy standpoint and feels she did it without getting her hands dirty. Jameka thinks that the game has totally shifted. Amber cries that she will miss Dustin. She feels that she was so played and she is so confused. Both Amber and Jameka think that Eric is at fault for Dustin's leaving. At the Head of Household competition Amber puts the wrong number up because it was her lucky number and that gave Daniele the Head of Household. Daniele says that last time everyone felt completely safe, but this time everyone is going to be on edge.

Jessica and Eric feel they got lucky with the HOH going to Daniele.Daniele and Dick cheer in private when she becomes HOH. She says that this time she is going to weigh all her options in making her decisions. Jessica tells Jameka that she was giving her some space and they talk up in the lobby. Jameka wonders what is up with Eric and Jessica lets him take the fall for the most part.Daniele says that the picture of her family shows all of them with really bad hair. Zach says there are no pictures of her boyfriend and Daniele receives a letter from Nick. Eric says that the letter is a scrapbook type and has glitter and hearts and is great for a 13 year old. Daniele says that he says he is rooting her on from home and that he watches her.

Daniele approaches Amber. Dani says that Dustin walked around like he owned the place and Amber agrees. Amber tells her to do what she has to do and Dani says that honestly she doesn't know what she is going to do yet. Daniele says that she will be there for her this week, and this week will be the hardest for her. Daniele tells the diary room that on a personal level she will be there for Amber, but it won't affect her strategy.Amber asks what words mean. She worries that people will think she is stupid, but she wants to know what it means. She asks about "outed" "sub-alliances" and others. Eric talks to her about what prompted the move to evict Dustin. Eric explains that it wasn't planned, but when it happened he realized that he would go first when it got to the five. Eric says that it really hasn't changed things for him. Amber says that she was weaseled by the group and though she can forgive, she can't forget.

Another Princess Interview!!!

You know what we're already missing (besides Dustin's gray V-neck T-shirts)? The freedom to ask the Big Brother evictees whatever we want! Starting with Dustin Erikstrup, the 22-year-old shoe salesman from Chicago, who was sent packing Thursday night by a vote of 4 to 2, the ousted houseguests are now sequestered members of the jury that will decide the show's winner. That means we can't ask them about anything they did not witness for themselves in the house. Fighting the urge to tell Dustin that Jessica thought he had a secret alliance with Dick and Daniele — and that Eric, whom he blames for his demise, only gunned for him because America told him to — we managed to chat about his ex Joe, his upcoming trip to Barbados, and why Dick is pure evil.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: You weren't exactly a Big Brother fan before entering the house. Why did you decide to come on the show as your ex Joe's enemy?

DUSTIN: I had just graduated college. It was kinda looking like a hum-drum summer. I had only a few things planned. I was working part-time at a relatively dead-end job. Two days after I graduated, this kind of fell into my lap, and so I decided to run with it.

EW: What was your strategy coming into the house?

Dustin: My strategy was actually to kinda play dumb. I was going to use the fact that I hadn't seen previous seasons to my advantage. People were trying to use me as putty in their hands, but I wasn't going to let them.

EW: When did it really become ''game on'' for you?

Dustin: I would say toward the end of Week 3, after Joe had left. I thought to myself, Okay, now I can really step up my game. It was after that that I became Head of Household and started directing people in the game as opposed to being a person who just let the game be played for them.

EW: Did you ever think that Joe would bring up the gonorrhea situation?

Dustin: You know, again, I can't say it enough: That's his issue. I'm not the one who ended up with some sort of sexually transmitted disease. If he wanted to sell himself out on national television, that's fine, because I had nothing to do with that.

EW: Zach mentioned in his goodbye video that your arrogance was a liability for you. Did you know that's how housemates perceived you?

Dustin: Absolutely. I'd become overconfident in the way I was playing the game, and I sort of lost a level-headedness about it. That's inevitably what led to my demise. I had done quite a few bold moves in the game. I took those prizes during the POV. I sent Nick home when he's America's favorite person in the house. I chose to keep Eric and go against Dick and Daniele's wishes in Week Five. And I almost beat Dick in his own Power of Veto competition. Those are all very bold moves, and then inevitably the boldest move of all was to go up as a pawn, and it got me out of the house.

EW: You volunteered to be the pawn, the week after the pawn you put up as HOH was sent home. I'm assuming that's a regret.

Dustin: Obviously, again, that was an overconfidence thing, suggesting to throw me up there as a big Ha Ha to Dick. Looking back, that's definitely the one regret I have in this game.

EW: What about the croquet match — I can't believe Dick got the five points when he needed it.

Dustin: I know. Rrrr. That one gets me every time I think about it. That one point.

EW: Can you appreciate, on any level, what Dick pulled off last night by not going home?

Dustin: On a strategic level, I have to say I'm more disappointed in other people for following through with it. I don't want to give Dick any sort of respect because I don't think that his tactics in the game were respectful at all. I feel that his fear tactics are what drove people to do what they did. The fact that he had a very strong two-person alliance with his daughter, people tried to jump on that bandwagon.

EW: Dick calling you Princess — how did you deal with that?

Dustin: Honestly, he was calling Carol a princess and Jessica a princess in Weeks One and Two for the way that they didn't do anything around the house. And he just decided to attack my sexuality in a low blow, and you know, I didn't really take it offensively. Him calling me a princess, I could have really cared less. Him attacking Jameka's religious beliefs and Amber's motherhood — those are the attacks that I took personally.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY:
When he started banging the pots and pans, did it seem out of the blue to you or like typical Dick?

DUSTIN: It seemed pretty typical of a six-year-old. Leave it to Dick to act his age, being a 44-year-old parent that he allegedly is, to upset the entire house and bang pots and pans. I don't respect his fear tactics. There's a huge difference between fear and respect. People in the house fear Dick, they don't respect him.

EW: We saw you in the hot tub refer to Dick as a ''washed-up, dead-beat, white-trash dad.'' I don't remember seeing what he did to elicit that comment from you at that moment. Was that pent-up anger?

Dustin: It was the way that Amber and Jameka had internalized his comments. I think women should be held in higher respect than men. For a man to attack a woman's motherhood or a woman's religious beliefs, or anybody's religious beliefs in that sense, it really hit me. I was really disappointed in myself for calling Dick the things that he is. [Slight chuckle]

EW: The POV competition with the prizes: Any regrets for taking them, or are you just planning your trip to Barbados?

Dustin: Honestly, I never saw myself winning this game. It was my goal to make it into the jury, and I did that. If I'm not gonna win the show, at least I'll walk out of here with something: That was my mentality walking into the house and snatching up those prizes at that moment. It was my Head of Household week. I will do with it what I please. And that's exactly what I did.

EW: Now that you've had a few hours to process the vote, do you look at how things went down any differently?

Dustin: No. There must have been some sort of flip. Eric obviously didn't like the way that the five of us were going and decided to go to the other side. His alliance with Jen was clearly still strong and he used that to his advantage to vote me out.

EW: You mentioned last night that you had an inclination that the tide was changing in Dick's favor. How did you know?

Dustin: It's funny, on Wednesday morning at 4:15, I woke up to go to the bathroom, and I heard whispers in the bathroom, and it was Eric and Jen. And it had been rumored the week before that the two of them had an alliance and that only solidified that fact. From that moment forward, the way things carried about on eviction day — body language, conversations — I could tell something had changed. Amber had told me she had witnessed a conversation with Eric and Dick that looked a little peculiar. That obviously turned out to be true.

EW: Did you have any deals that we'd find surprising?

Dustin: I did have some sort of sleeper alliance with Zach since Week One. I was holding it more as a fake, and apparently it got back to him that I wasn't too serious about that. He was able to vote me out without any sort of regret on his behalf.

EW: I interviewed Joe when he got evicted. I know that he used to talk to you about the show when you were together. Did you learn anything from him that you used in the game?

Dustin: [Thinks] No. Obviously, Joe's strategies in this game didn't get him very far. I never really heeded his advice in life or on this game. I did things in my own way. Overall, I'm relatively pleased with the way things turned out.

EW: How do you look at your position on the jury?

Dustin: Every person's gonna have their view of what transpires over the next four weeks, and I'll be the first person to really get every side of the story. I'll be sort of the sponge to absorb it all and believe who I chose to believe. I think that I'll be the most clear-headed person voting for the winner in the end.

EW: And who are you rooting for? Amber?

Dustin: I am. She plays with her heart. I hope that with me gone now she will be able to play with her head even more. That was my intention getting Nick out, that she would play with her head more than her heart.

Big Brother 8 Jen Rumor

Here's an interesting Rumor that was posted about Jen today:

Ok, I just got the Jen low-down from a PA at CBS. Apparently, very early on in the game, Eric was leaving the DR and Jen was going in. Eric had just received some instructions, but the staff left the envelope on the couch. Jen came in and found it, and saw HER name on the card (it was a vote on getting someone put on the block). At that time, they had to scramble and fill her in, although she doesn't know the names are coming from America- she just thinks it BB. This now explain why she's calling him 'Mr. America" (it's on the outside of the envelope), and why she's fairly cocky about knowing so much more than others. For the record, they did not tell Eric that she knows. Also, there has been no proof or even suspicion of either Eric OR Jen telling anybody else about his status. Oh, yeah- in return for playing along, if Jen wins the money, she does NOT have to give up the $250K she wagered.

What do you all think? Does Jen really know that Eric is America's Player?

Ryan Seacrest to host the Superbowl

That's right Idol fans, Variety reports that Ryan Seacrest will be hosting the pre-game as well as the half time show of the NFL's Superbowl XLII, which wil be airing on FOX for the first time in three years.

Interview Wtih Princess!!!!

As suspected, the pawn was sent packing on last night's "Big Brother." With Daniele now crowned Head of Household, we're beginning to think Eric could make it to the end. Would that mean he'd have to share his cash with America? Since Dustin is the first member of the jury, there's certain stuff ("America's Player" twist, Diary Room conversations, etc.) that CBS has forbidden The Slug from asking him in our post-eviction interview. So we're just gonna let Dustin dish on everyone left in the house before he goes into sequester. Let's see what he has to say.

Amber: "As a person, I think she is a wonderful individual. She has a lot to give. Hopefully, with me gone, she can focus more on the game. That was my intention with getting Nick out during my Head of Household reign."

Dick: "Dick's strategy and tactic in this game is fear, but fear does not beget respect. With that approach, he will sink just as fast as I did. ... His 'princess' comments didn't bother me. I think they probably bothered other people outside the house, my family included."

Daniele: "I feel like she is strategic and a very strong player, but she goes about everything in the most wrong way. She spent the first part of the game hiding between Nick's legs. Then, after he left, she ran between her father's."

Eric: "Eric is a very strong player. I like Eric as a person. His actions and behavior for the past few weeks have spread him too thin, but as a player, we see things eye to eye. For whatever reason, he decided it would be best to get me out this week. I guess we'll see if that works for him."

Jameka: "Jameka's loyalty is admirable but questionable at the same time. She stands for a lot, but in this game, you have to push yourself as a player. It's good to have morals and values, but sometimes it's OK to break them. She's very strong and very intuitive with people."

Jen: "Jen is a question mark. I'm not sure if she's playing dumb or really that vacant. I like her as an individual, but I don't know her very well."

Jessica: "I like Jessica. Her dishonesty is one thing that has been consistent from Day One."

Zach: "Oh, ol' Zach."

Thursday Live Eviction Episode REcap 08/16/07

OH Happy Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As Dustin faces the vote for eviction, Joe, speaking from the safety of outside the house, proves he was right in the first week, telling us that "Dustin's own personality will be his downfall…just like in our relationship."

This is an interesting counterpoint to what is actually being said in the house when Dustin is told by another HouseGuest that "(Joe) watches every day…. He's obsessed with you." Joe isn't quite obsessing, but he does exclaim to televised Dustin, "Oh! You're really selfish." To add weight to Joe's remarks, Dustin and Zach are in the garden, bare-chested and chatting, when Dustin turns to Zach and says that Zach will "never have a body like this after five days of cardio in a bunny suit."

Later on, while Dick and Zach lounge in hammocks in the garden, both agree with a shared laugh that they think they might have "voted out the wrong king." This sits well as America's Player Eric is assigned his new target in the diary room.

Hoping the next victim to be Dick, Eric picks up the envelope and reads the card. He is wrong. The new target for America's Player will be none other than the focus of attention so far, Dustin. "I expected this," says Eric. With his new task in hand, Eric sets about making sure he does not fail his public.

First on his hit list is Jessica, in the bedroom. As the pair snuggle up under the covers, Eric begins his discourse, but Jessica has her methods of making sure she's the one controlling the conversation. With Eric talking beside her, she sits up and removes her top, leaving only her tank top covering her before slipping back between the sheets. Eric's eyes don't move from Jessica's chest as he blurts out "Oh my goodness!" prompting Jessica to smile and clue him in: "These are boobs!" Eric tells her that they should decide "to keep Dick as we don't know what Dustin will do." With the first part of Eric's plan in action, he leaves as Jessica dismisses him: "You may go now. I'm tired!"

Dustin is sent packing, and Danielle wins HOH

Not only was Dustin stunned to be sent home this week, but the HOH competition ended with Danielle once again winning! The house has been turned upside down and it can only get more exciting from here.

Another Idol sent home

Tonight on Canadian Idol Tara Oram, Dwight D'eon and Carly Rae Jepsen found themselves in the bottom 3. Tara was sent home. I think that Canada made the right choice tonight.

The Top 6 perform on Canadian Idol

This week the Idols performed pop rock hits from around the world.

The special guest mentors of the night were Maroon 5.

01. Tara Oram sang Walking on Sunshine.
I thought that she just isn't good enough to win this competition and should have gone home weeks ago. She has a good stage presence and her vocals are not bad they are just not up to par with where there need to be in my opinion for her to deserve to win.
The Judges said that it was a tough song to do and she was a little short on notes but the performance was strong. Too pop, it suited her personality, she didn't sing as good as she acted, awful.

02. Jaydee Bixby sang Amazed by Lonestar.
I thought that he had a rough start. I really don't think he knows how to portray a serious emotion during a song. He is always smiling which makes it feel corny. I didn't like his voice or performance this week.
The Judges said that he didn't hit the notes needed to and caused his ears to throb, looked better than sounded, awful, sang pretty good but the drawl is a bit much and emotions weren't believable.

03. Matt Rapley sang Everything by Michael Buble.
I thought that he was hard to hear at times because the background musicians were drowning him out. It was a pretty good performance. Was definitely better than that first two singers of the night.
The Judges said that it was the best performance of the night so far. Was shaky in lower parts but good, better than he had done the past couple of weeks but smiling too much, lot of entertainment in that song, looked comfortable on stage, good job.

04. Carly Rae Jepsen sang Come to My Window by Melissa Etheridge.
I thought that as usual I didn't enjoy her performance. She seems like a sweet person but I just do not enjoy her vocals at all. I thought this was the wrong song choice for her as well.
The Judges said it had its moments but not fav song, she was smart to do it Carly Rae way, beautiful, good interpretation, best version ever heard of that song.

05. Brian Melo sang Dolphins Cry by Live.
I thought that he got into the song. There were some rough moments but for me it was the best of the night and he is now my current pick to win Canadian Idol.
The Judges said it was the right song choice, good job, great emotions, excellent song choice, sang with emotion, inspiring, only real performance of night.

06. Dwight D'eon sang Smooth by Rob Thomas and Santana.
I felt that he was entertaining , his vocals weren't too bad and it was one of his best performances. He was great on his guitar. I actually thought he was the 2nd best of the night.
The Judges said they really enjoyed, lots of energy, singing not so good, cool, made it his own, not vocally strong, good guitar playing.

My pick to be eliminated this week either Tara Oram or Jaydee Bixby.
As I mentioned before now that Greg Neufeld has been cut I am voting for Brian Melo to win. Out of the bunch I feel he deserves it.

Big Brother says no to banner

So CBS sent a cease and desist order to a pilot who was ready to reveal the America's Player twist on a banner, but didn't manage to stop the banner plane the houseguests DID see about Eric and Amber being liars. This is just a cue to CBS that they need to get restriction on the airspace around the house or enclose it, maybe making a roof that they can open or close at will, if they want to protect the integrity of the game fully. I personally think that people who would fly a banner that reveals specific info are really just trying to ruin the game and are not die hard fans as they say.

Van's Thoughts

This past episode of BB, and the events in the house in general as of late, have really made me love this season over the past one. The main reason is Dick, who is extremely entertaining in his antics and probably one of my favourite houseguests of all time. His strategy of getting in everyone's face does work, despite his nom, and i find it incredibly entertaining to listen to. He calls Jameka out on her use of God (I'll get to that), and on christinanity as a whole (not my view but still good material), and his tear down of Amber on every issue in her life left Amber praying to God in the HOH room to help her because Dick is "mean". Dick telling Danielle that she was safe no matter what really hit home the most to me, as the man portrayed as the biggest Ahole in the world is going to sacrifice himself for his daughter to stay in the game.

Jameka...what more can I say? Its one thing to be strong in her beliefs, but she is hypocritical alot of the time in calling on God and portraying a good christian and yet using some of the same material Dick does to attack him, and using language and clapping her hands to avoid hitting him. I believe in God, but humans have freedom of choice and everything is not pre-ordained. She is using it as a tool in the game in the wrong way, and its far more offensive on a global level then Dick's insults. Sorry, its true. "Dick, your mom's a bitch" What?

And finally Eric, America's Player. I lost a little respect for Eric this episode. Not because he's in good with the nerd herd part 2, not because he gloated, not because of any of that. He opened another envelope with America's wishes that went against his alliance AND HE STILL ISN'T putting 2 and 2 together. He's a smart guy, he uses conversations around him to manipulate, but he doesn't see that he is not on the side the majority of America wants him playing on. Whether or not that's his choice, the fact that he doesn't see it dissappoints me.

“I Got Thrown a Couple Curveballs I Didn’t Expect” – An Interview with Big Brother 8’s Kail

Kail went through a roller coaster of emotions in the house – from being the first HOH with a solid alliance to being nominated three times in a row and having essentially nobody. What was her strategy? What did she think of Dick and Daniele? What did she learn about homosexuals? And what question did RealityNewsOnline answer for her that she didn’t know about? Read on for this and much more!


Kail definitely had an up-and-down game. As you’ll see when you read this interview, she didn’t know she was going, but she’s not really upset about it either. Kail’s sense of humor is still definitely intact, as is her overall sense of herself.

RealityNewsOnline: What was your strategy coming into the game and how did it change once you got to the house?
Kail: My strategy was I was going to try to align with all the girls. I looked around and they were all so young, I was like, “That’s not going to work.” Then I was open minded to whatever happened.
I got thrown a couple curveballs I didn’t expect, like I didn’t expect anybody to approach me with and alliance. And Zach just came up to me wanting an alliance, hounding me. When I realized he was relentless, I went to Mike so it wouldn’t be a two-person alliance, it would be three-person. Zach added Nick, so it ended up four.

RNO: Creating the Mrs. Robinson alliance seemed like a good idea – at least as we were watching – did you have a backup plan in case the alliance fell apart (as it did)?
Kail: No, I did not think I would need a backup plan. I’m the type of person who is pretty much loyal to the end. So I didn’t think I needed one. Nick was the first to stray. I started to get suspicious of that quite soon. I kept telling Mike and Mike wouldn’t make a move. I had no way to communicate with Nick. The darned girlfriend got in the way!

RNO: Very early in the game, it looked like you were a power player in a good position. What happened to turn things upside down such that your alliance broke down and you ended up a target for both game purposes and Dick’s relentless personal attacks?
Kail: That was Dick – he was relentless. Why he chose me from the very beginning, I’ll never know. But he picked me from the beginning and he just took positive attributes from my personality and dragged them through the mud. I kind of didn’t get over that hurdle ever. He did so much damage in the very beginning days.

RNO: What is your opinion of Dick and the way he has acted?
Kail: He’s trying to say this is all strategy, and I just go back to: This is the real Dick. You cannot live with someone for five weeks, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and be a fake. You might get away with that for a little while. That’s really him. He can try to play it off as strategy, but I didn’t think so. I think that answers a lot of questions about why there was a rift between him and his daughter.

RNO: Speaking of which, what do you think of the relationship between Dick and Daniele?
Kail: I don’t know why I have such a soft spot in my heart for Daniele, but I do. It saddens me tremendously to see things in her life – she’s a survivor and I don’t even think she knows it.
She’s very strong from all she’s been through. She’s beautiful, she makes me laugh, she has high morals. She’s just a wonderful girl. It saddens me, that whole relationship. Dick is trying to say it’s not that bad. But I’ve talked to Daniele. There’s reasons for [them not talking]; that doesn’t just happen.

RNO: Why did you accept Daniele’s deal and let her have immunity, especially given that the HOH can’t really promise somebody won’t be evicted once they’re nominated, as you just found out?
Kail: Basically, I don’t know if anyone could tell, but I had nothing left. It was either a lose-lose situation – lose the competition and no deals – or lose the competition and try to win some kind of deal. I just took what I could get. I was going to drop anyway. I was done, I was wiped out.

RNO: Why hasn’t anybody apparently stood up to Dick and given back to him as good as he gives out?
Kail: Because in the very beginning, no one was at the end of his wrath but Jen and K. So they were like hey, let him go after them, he’s not going after us. Once he started to bother them, they got upset. Now they’re starting to care.

RNO: But why hasn’t anyone stood up to him?
Kail: I think because they say they have the backbone to do it, but we’ll see if Jessica really does. She may now because she has the whole house backing her up. Prior to this, why [bother] when Jen and Kail are the barrier? You might as well let them play out the game and sit back and watch. Dick and us finally caught on to that in week five, but it was too little too late to catch on to them sitting back and coasting.

RNO: Did you know you were going home this time, or were you as surprised as Dick, Daniele, and Jen?
Kail: I was surprised, but I did have a gut feeling. This is so weird, I told my mom [before coming on the show] if I was to go, I want to go home on week five if I can’t go to the end because I didn’t want to go in the sequester house. Call it an answer to prayer. I don’t know – that was one of my prayers, if I can’t make it to the final four or two, I wanted to go home this week. Wednesday I thought I was staying and things turned on me. Of course I’m very disappointed. But on the other hand, it’s very positive too. Can you imagine being in the sequester house with Dick and Amber?! (laughs) That would be a nightmare!

RNO: Do you have any idea how Eric turned the vote around?
Kail: I do not! I don’t know who it was. I though I was guaranteed my four votes. There’s one person who I don’t know. I can’t wait to find out. I think I’ll find out after all my interviews.

RNO: (After checking with CBS to make sure it’s okay to tell Kail.) You received votes from Dick, Zach, and Jen.
Kail: So it was Dustin! He’s going to be in huge trouble with Amber unless he told her to. He will be in huge trouble with Amber unless she’s on board with that. I don’t think she would be.
He lied to me. Dustin told me all the time he was my fourth vote, clear up to the live show. That will not go over well with Amber. So if she wasn’t on board for that, he’s going to lose her as a friend. Don’t get me wrong, not because Amber has any good feelings toward me – it’s because he lied. Unless she was for that. There could be trouble brewing there.

RNO: What do you think about the America’s player twist?
Kail: I love it! That is so creative and I’m so happy for the viewers to be able to participate. Oh my gosh – no one has an idea. He is doing such a good job. I was floored!

RNO: In his goodbye video, Dustin hoped you’d learned something about homosexuals. Viewers have seen a number of your comments on that topic – what do you feel you’ve learned?
Kail: If you’re asking if I’ve changed my opinion, no. I thought I only made one comment.

RNO: You talked about how you wouldn’t be happy if your children made that choice. After seeing Dustin’s pictures, you said it was obvious that his parents were okay with his choice. And you talked about how you wouldn’t know a gay person unless he was wearing full makeup.
Kail: I don’t know. Did it ever come across how close Dustin and I really were? I cried on his shoulder more than one time. We hugged each other every day. He made my coffee for me every morning. I was the only person who voted for Joe to stay in the house. I want to look at people’s hearts and not their actions. Dustin has a great heart and that’s what I look at.

RNO: Is there anything else you want to tell us about your time in the Big Brother house?
Kail: I auditioned since Season 5 and never took a week in the house for granted. I felt very blessed for as many weeks as I had. I didn’t realize how homesick I was going to be, and I was mad at myself for being so homesick because it was something I’d wanted for years. I wasn’t expecting that.

She won't be included in the "Big Brother 8" jury, but Kail Harbick definitely made an impression on the game after being nominated a record three weeks in a row and forming an alliance that dissolved quicker than cotton candy. The mother of three who lied wasn't forthcoming about her real occupation chatted with The Slug this morning about her strategy, the "America's Player" twist and what she really thought about that Amber vs. Eric smackdown.

The Slug: What happened? What led to your eviction last night?

Kail Harbick: I don't know what happened. When I went to bed, I thought for sure I was staying. By the morning, I thought in my gut that something went down, and I didn't know what it is. I have no idea. I have no idea.

The Slug: How do you feel about Eric being America's Player?

Kail Harbick: Oh my gosh. That is the most creative thing I've heard. And he's doing a wonderful job. Nobody has any idea. Not even a clue. He's pulling it off really well. It makes it fun.

The Slug: Do you wish you could've been America's Player?

Kail Harbick: I don't think I could've pulled it off. Eric is the perfect person to do it.

The Slug: What did you think when Amber blew up at Eric?

Kail Harbick: I was like, "Yes! I'm gonna be saved!" So I thought. I felt very sorry for Eric after she blew up at him. I don't know if you saw me go over to him later on, but my heart went out to him. No matter what he did or what he said, I don't think he deserved the wrath of Amber. I felt bad for him.

The Slug: What's your biggest regret in the game?

Kail Harbick: There's two. The first is jumping in an alliance so early and being the very first HOH. Secondly, my gut feeling was not to open up to Evel. He always wanted me to talk game with him. My gut was like, "I don't trust him." Why he chose me from Week One to talk game with, I don't know. And since I refused to do it, I was on his hit list ever since. It was very stressful.

The Slug: Since your alliance crumbled, what was your strategy?

Kail Harbick: I tried to prove to everybody that I was all alone and not a threat. I'm not a strong player. They might as well keep me in. I'm loyal. I was trying to do that. I was just recovering from that this week. If I made it through the week, I think I would've been fine. But it took me four weeks to do that.

The Slug: Who's the biggest threat left in the house?

Kail Harbick: Danielle. She's a competitor. She's smart. The only thing is I don't think she has the numbers behind her. If she can keep up with Jen, Evel and Zach, I think she'll do well. The other person that's doing well is Jameka.

The Slug: What was the most annoying or shocking thing somebody said in the house?

Kail Harbick: All of those things didn't really bother me. The thing that bothered me was walking on eggshells around Evel. You never knew when he would explode or over what. If I showed any uncomfortablness or whatever, it was because of him. Nothing else ever bothered me.

The Slug: Why did you tell your housemates you were only a real estate agent? Why not be more forthcoming with people, especially those in your alliance?

Kail Harbick: The reason I didn't want to share owning businesses is because they would correlate that with a business mind and numbers and strategy. I didn't want that. And I didn't want them to think that if I had a business, I always have money and hold that against me if I made it to the Final Two. I didn't want the questions. So I just decided not to share.

The Slug: Outside the house, there's some controversy over remarks Amber made about Jewish people. Did you ever hear her say anything like that?

Kail Harbick: No, I never did hear that. I pretty much tried to stay out of the small talk. I thought I'd get myself into more trouble if I participated in small talk. That kind of backfired on me because they thought I wasn't close to them. So no, I didn't hear those comments.

The Slug: Tell me about when you considered leaving "Big Brother" on your own.

Kail Harbick: Every week I was on the block, I very much considered committing a "Big Brother" suicide, knowing that all I had to do is go around and say "Hey, vote me out. Send me home." For some reason, in the back of my mind, I told myself to just wait until Week Five, that's the week before going into sequester. Oddly enough, Week Five came, and I was cured from home sickness like four days ago, but then I got evicted.

The Slug: What do you think is going to happen with your block buddy, Jen?

Kail Harbick: She is smart. She has everybody figured out. I don't know if that came across or not.

The Slug: No. Absolutely not.

Kail Harbick: Oh, she has that game figured out. We had pillow talk every night and talked about the game. She pointed out things that blew me away. She knew from Day Five that Evel and Daniele were working together. She knows who's working together. She knows who's loyal to each other. She could be in the final two. Even with her personality, she knows how to work the houseguests and pull information out of them.

Interview with BB8's Mike Dutz
It's a rare treat to get insight into the game of Big Brother from a current season player. They've all been interviewed to death about their time in the house, so I'm not gonna take that route.

bb8dish: What I'm curious about is your take on the season and the houseguests since your departure. Do you have a favorite to win the show?

Mike: I would like to see either Zach, Jameka, Jen, or Eric win.

bb8dish: You had a very close and loyal relationship with Kail while you were in the house. What was your opinion of Kail & Jen forming an alliance of sorts with Dick & Daniele, in an effort to "start throwing rocks at the gallery"? (all the HGs who do nothing every week, while the 4 of them dodge bullets)

Mike:I didn't believe it was a good move. The house has certainly turned against Dick and Daniele. I believe if they associate themselves as being aligned with them, they are certainly displaying a larger target on them, rather than if they were just bouncing around like they've been doing.

bb8dish: What's your opinion on the banner planes that have been flying, and do you think the one the HGs saw has truly changed the course of the game unfairly?

Mike: It certainly has thrown a wrench into some of the player's game! It gives them an unfair chance to play with outside influence entering into the minds of the houseguests. I wish the game could just be played out as it's supposed to be.

bb8dish: Is there any specific HG you think is playing the best game, in terms of the HG making the best strides toward the final 2?

Mike: I believe Eric is a great player. He has been positioning himself since day 1 to secure himself a place in the final 2.

bb8dish: Are you at all surprised by all the animosity that's broken out since you and Nick were evicted? Dustin, specifically, has become a power monger, lording it over anyone who will listen, and making personal attacks left and right, as well as being horrifically condescending to just about everyone within earshot. Do you see a correlation between yours and Nick's departure and this occurrence in terms of cause & effect?

Mike: Yeah, I believe when the bigger threats are out of the picture, people can speak more at ease without feeling like they are hanging themselves out to dry. The consequences are less severe, and people are more than happy to say what they want.

bb8dish: My final question is a bit of a fantasy scenario that I like to end my interviews with. If you could have a 2 minute, uncensored phone call with the current HG of your choice, who would it be, and what would you want to tell him or her?

Mike: Zach-being that he is a definite underdog in this game, I would love to bring him up to speed with how the houseguests are positioned. He has been kept out of the loop on all groups within the house, and he has nowhere to turn. So I think with the knowledge at hand of where who is positioned where, he could make better decisions to make himself an asset in the game rather than a pawn or a HS with very little time left in the game.

Thursday Live Eviction Recap 08/09/07

Eric is facing an eviction vote, but he's as nervous as he might be if he were facing a more popular housemate. "Being up against Kail is a lot easier than being up against a lot of other people," he muses, admitting his safety lies in the hands of Jameka, Amber, Dustin and Jessica. After the emotional roller-coaster of the last few days, Kail is worried that she may go home since "everybody likes Eric," and they will likely vote to keep him. Dick knows his allies have three votes but they still need one more to "get Eric out of this house." Down but not out, Eric seeks out Amber in the backyard. "I am not rolling over," he whispers. Amber is fully supportive of her friend, and swears on her child's life that he has her vote. Elsewhere, Dick approaches Kail and Jen. "Unbelievably, I am saying I want you to stay in the house," he tells Kail as both Kail and Jen laugh. Quietly, Jen makes an astute observation: the other group in the house might get threatened by Kail, Jen, Dick and Daniele teaming up and may vote to evict Kail to ensure their superior voting numbers. Dick nods and sets off to lock in the fourth vote to guarantee Eric's departure. His first stop is Amber. Dick wastes little time in divulging Eric's intention to use private information Amber shared with him to "discredit (her) in the house." Dick informs her Eric is waiting for an opportune time to use it against her. Amber is stunned, trapped by a promise she made to Eric that he has her vote. Dick reinforces his opinion of Eric: "He's a little weasel. He's a sneak." Amber explains she swore on the life of her child she would vote for Eric, and now she is trapped. "Oh my god," she whispers before heading to Dustin to inform him of the news. "How dare he do it," she groans. The Clamber for Amber's VoteLater, out in the yard, Dick and Daniele continue to work on Amber. The Las Vegas waitress is frustrated and wants to take action but can't. Dick asks, "Do you wanna leave him in here so he can pull that out later on you?" Amber is quick to answer, "I want Eric gone!" "So remedy the situation," Dick exclaims. Amber swears Eric will be evicted regardless of her vote as she will get her allies to vote against him. Dick offers to cut Dustin a deal to keep him safe for a week if he votes to evict Eric. Amber is still stressing about giving her word when Dick says, "God will understand. If the God you believe in is a just God…pray about it." Amber takes heart and goes to work on Dustin. Dustin is not keen to take Dick's offer as he wants "Evel" out of the house more than Eric. He tries to calm Amber down: "You are so a psycho right now." Amber counters that she's mad, not freaked out, growling, "I'm going to vote to get rid of Eric." Dustin doesn't want her to break her word, so he promises her he will vote to get rid of Eric as long as she keeps her word.

Later as the HouseGuests chill out downstairs, Amber confronts Eric about his intended betrayal of her to their housemates. "How dare you use something against me…when you know I told you in confidence? What kind of person are you? That's so sick dude, that's twisted!" Eric sits stone-faced, listening to her call him out in front of everyone. He doesn't refute her claims as Amber keeps yelling. "You're a devil in disguise... I hate you!" she screams before storming out. "That felt so good. Thank you god!" Host Julie Chen welcomes the HouseGuests and "house Bunnies" to the live eviction episode. Julia asks Jameka what it was like to be in the room when Amber yelled at Eric. "It was tense…" she sighs but says everything is fine now, although she still regrets giving up the HoH competitions in the PoV game last week. Jen admits she doesn't mind giving up half of the prize money to compete. Julie then reveals that viewers have posed questions to the HouseGuests. Dustin is asked why he wears the same shirt all the time, and while the HouseGuests laugh, Dustin smiles. "It's all about consistency…Staying the same is my mode of operation." Dick's a Pussy CatBack on the Sunset Strip, Dick is very well liked and well known. Refuting Dick's housemates' claims that he is a name-dropper, his rocker buddy Dizzy Reed, keyboard for Guns N' Roses, adds, "Dick's not a name dropper; people drop his name." Another rocker bud, Eric Dover from Alice Cooper's band, says, "Dick is the real deal," and EJ Curse, the lead singer from Silent Rage, adds, "You either love him or hate him." Julian, an old friend of Dick's from the club promotion business, reveals that Dick is as "loyal as a friend can get," adding that even though Dick may hate him for saying, "Dick really is really a sap and a sweetheart of a guy." Julie has a private talk with Daniele about her week as HoH, asking how things have changed between her and her father. "It's a very slow process," she smiles, "It is getting better." Julie asks Daniele her thoughts on what Dick has said to her housemates, and Daniele cringes. "The worst thing about it is people are afraid of my dad and they take out the brunt on me." Somewhere Over the Rainbow, OregonKail's life back home in Rainbow is very different from her BIG BROTHER 8 life. She owns a motel, fine dining restaurant, a grocery store and another smaller restaurant. Her husband Darin is impressed with his wife for playing the game without "the HouseGuests having any idea who she really is." Her hubby doesn't like Dick yelling at his wife, but understands it's a game and that's how Dick plays it. In the diary room, Kail admits she "misses her husband," and wishes she had his advice on how to deal with Dick. Darin is glad Kail has found a kindred Christian spirit in Jameka, but reveals his wife is downplaying her spiritual beliefs. He warns, "If the HouseGuests keep her in too long, they will be in trouble," as his wife might just take home the big prize.

Julie asks the nominees for their final words to the housemates before the vote. Being her third time on the block, Kail stands and repeats her good wishes for her housemates. Eric is next and thanks his allies for their support. The vote begins with Dick who votes to evict Eric. Jen follows with another vote to evict Eric. Jessica is next with a vote to evict Kail. Zach votes to evict Eric, and Jameka casts her vote to evict Kail. Dustin follows to evict Kail as does Amber. Julie makes it official; Kail has been evicted from the BIG BROTHER 8 house. Kail stands to say farewell to her housemates with hugs and smiles. She leaves still wearing her bunny suit with a quick wave. She meets Julie outside the house. Dick starts asking for a show of votes and Dustin swears to him he voted to evict Eric. "We had a deal," he reminds him. Julie asks Kail for her thoughts on Dick's behavior. Kail sighs that Dick's behavior is indicative of his true character. Julie plays the farewells for her. Dick wishes Kail a great life, while Dustin tells her it is time to grow up and see the real world. Jen hopes to see Kail again to go shopping on Melrose. Jameka bids her a fond farewell and Daniele apologizes for the "pawn" scenario not working out. Let's Make a DuelJulie announces the HoH competition, Let's Make a Duel. The backyard is decked out like an old west saloon. The eligible HouseGuests compete head to head in a duel for ultimate power, the HoH. Standing in pairs, the player who buzzes first with a correct answer will eliminate their competitor. The questions will be about things their evicted housemates said in the diary room. The players continue to face-off until there is only one player left. Daniele chooses the first two "duelists" take the podium. Dustin and Eric are up and Dustin is eliminated. Eric chooses the next two: Dick and Zach. When Zach is eliminated, Dick chooses Eric and Jessica, and Eric is eliminated. Jen and Dick then face off and Dick is eliminated. Jessica and Amber face off and Amber is eliminated. The final pair, Jessica and Jen, face off for the HoH title. Jessica guesses the correct HouseGuest and wins HoH. Eric is elated as his closest house friend wins power.

I'm back after a couple of days so we'll combine these into one update. Eric stayed in the house with a 4 to 3 vote to evict Kail. dick was visibly shocked at the outcome. Jessica then won the HOH competition, possibly securing Eric in the house another week and sending either Dick or Danielle home!

Greg Neufeld the next to go on Canadian Idol.

The bottom 3 this week were as the judges put it the 3 best and none of them should have been in that position. Carly Rae Jepson, Brian Melo and Greg Neufeld were the 3 lowest vote getter's this week. Carly Rae Jepson was told she was safe and then we had to sit through a commercial to see who was going home. I felt for sure it would be Brian Melo. He had a great night last night but there had been a couple of weeks I felt he didn't perform his best. Shockingly it was Greg Neufeld who was being sent home. I am extremely sad to see Greg go. He was in my opinion the best of the bunch and Canada stupidly put through 3 singers who were not even on his level. Jaydee Bixby, Tara Oram and Dwight D'eon are really no where near as talented as Greg or the other 2 for that matter and frankly they should have been in the bottom 3 this week. I really don't know what Canada is listening to but we obviously are watching two totally different shows..

Greg has a fan in me and when he releases his own CD I will be first in line to buy it.. Hopefully next week the right person will go home.

Tuesday BB Recap

Tuesday Aug 7th BB recap

Tonight they showed the POV competition and the POV ceremony.

-Reactions from nomination night. Kail is scared even though Dani promised her she will stay. Jen is not surprised at all and she thinks that they will both still be there next week.




-Dick starts in almost immediately taunting Jen. Saying that
she wont escape this week. This is his way of trying to keep
his and Dani's plan to backdoor Eric under wraps. But Jess told
Eric all about Dick and Dani knowing he was the one who cast
the 2nd phantom vote and he knows they are coming after him.
He starts to campaign with Jess, Amber and Dustin. Dustin tells
Jess to continue to pretend like she is going along with Dick
and Dani. Eric gets those 3 firmly on his side and then
starts in on Jameka. She looks a bit shocked and confused.

It just strikes me as funny that these 3 would so easily
believe Eric and discount any other info as B.S. They don't
even wait to find out exactly what Dick and Dani are saying
before they start bad mouthing D&D, especially Dustin.

-Jameka and Amber have a private chat in the hammock. Jam
says that D&D wont have the votes to get rid of Eric and
that the remaining members of the LNC will prevail.

-Zach and Dani chat in the HOH room and both agree that
Nick got shafted and Dani is doing this week for Nick. Zach
tells her that he is with her and Dick. Whatever they want
to do he is behind them 100%.

I really have to say I am liking Zach more and more each time
I see him. I am glad somebody is finally including him in their
group and he is getting more airtime.

-Eric gets Dustin all riled up about the D&D plan. Dustin says
that if D&D do in fact go ahead with their plan to backdoor Eric
they will be all on their own because nobody will vote their way.


Dustin is really starting to rub me the wrong way. He so easily
turns on people and I really think Amber should watch her back because
it wont be too long before he sees her as a liability and will start
to campaign to get her mentally unstable butt out of the house.

-Time to pick the players for veto comp. Dani draws Zach, Jen draws
Dustin and Kail draws HG choice and chooses Jameka. Dani chooses
Amber as the host. Eric is extremely upset that he wasn't picked.
He was counting on ruining D&D's plan by winning the POV.

-Veto Comp in BY it is called Numbers Don't Lie.. The competing HG
are given some "sticky situations" they have to place bids. The
highest bid will have to complete the situation named and the lowest
biding HG will be eliminated.. Dustin is eliminated in the first round
and Eric is pissed that Dustin didn't try harder. Zach is eliminated a
few rounds later, Dani is eliminated. Final round with Kail, Jameka and
Jen. Jen puts in the higher bid and wins the POV.

-Dani, Zach, Jen and Kail all have to wear bunny suits for 5 days.
-Kail, Zach, Dani, Jen and Jameka all have to dump funk (nasty
concoction that looks like poo and smells like it too) on their
heads every hour for the next 24 hours.
-Jen and Kail have to eat slop and only slop for the next 30 days.
-Kail and Jameka gave up their right to compete in the next 5 HOH
comps.
-And finally Jen gave up 50% of her winnings if she wins BB.


-Dick is ecstatic about her win. Eric of course is extremely upset. Jameka is upset that she gave up her chance at the next 5 HOH's because
she was looking forward to pictures of her family. Amber consoles her & tells her that it was God's plan. Jam then goes and prays. Dani goes to
check on Jam and apologizes and asks if Jam is mad at her. Jam says no but in DR Jam calls Dani a liar and says that Dani wasn't sorry she wants
Eric out. Jam says Dani is her fathers daughter she is just more cunning and witty but that crap is crap.

Wow what a way for a christian to talk.
I know I know Christians aren't perfect and blah blah blah. Well I am a
christian. I was raised in the church but I am sorry Jam is a hypocrite
and frankly I feel makes Christianity look bad. I really hope she gets
the boot soon.

-Dani asks Jen up to the HOH room where she asks for Jens vote to keep
Kail in the game. Dani then tells her about Eric and his manipulation
of all the HG's. Jen guarantees her vote. Dick also goes to Jen and asks
for a truce and they both agree to the truce and form a very unlikely
alliance.

He makes some very valid points here. He tells her that all the
other HG have been sitting back while Jen, Dick and Kail have been fighting
each other and trying to get each other evicted. The other HG think they
are safe but it is time for nobody to be safe.

-I just have to say here that Zach looks adorable in his bunny outfit. I
wish he could be my Easter bunny :P.. Dani and Jen look pretty hot in theirs
too. Good thing they have to take them off each time they dump the funk on
themselves.


-Dick goes up to Jess and tells her that Jen told them that Eric is playing both sides. That he has been in the LNC and in an alliance with Kail and Jen. Jess runs to Jen and she confirms what Dick said even going so far as to tell Jess that Eric has said rude things about her and that Jen thought she was Eric's number 1. Jess buys it hook, line and sinker. She seems really pissed. She then goes straight to Dustin and tells him that she now believes D&D because Jen confirmed everything they said. Dustin is shocked but says he doesn't buy it and he will just have to see. Jess then goes to Jameka and tells her the same thing Jameka says she doesn't buy it. She says they just want to make them all so mad at Eric that they will vote him out. Jess goes to think about it all. She is
very upset that she could be being used by someone she thought she was close to.

-America's Player Task for Eric. America choose Jessica for him to promise to
take to the final 2 with him. He is pretty happy about this and says that Jess
is his number 1 in the house and this will be an easy task. Jess confronts him
about all that Jen and D&D have told her. He does a good job of digging himself out of that hole and tells her that he wants to take her to the final 2 with him. She seems happy with that and back to trusting him.

-Dick does what Dick does best and confronts Eric in the HT about the lies and
manipulations. Eric says he never lied. He looks visibly shaken by it all. He
tells Dick to go and tell the other HG's all this and let them decide for
themselves. Dick says he will be doing that. Then Eric tells Dani that she is
allowing Dick to influence her to make the wrong decision.

-After that Dustin asks Dani to put up her father for eviction. She says that
his behavior is not her responsibility and that everyone should stop associating
her with his outbursts because she has no control over that. Dustin accuses her
of letting Dick control her reign as HOH. She says she isn't letting him control her. Kail chimes in and says whether she wants them to or not the other HG's will link Dani to her father. Dani says well then that is your mistake .

-In the POV ceremony Jen takes herself off the block of course and Dani puts up Eric in her place. She basically says that he falsely accused Nick and got him evicted. In DR Eric says this is a desperation move on D&D's part and that they are now dead in the game.Dick is excited though because now he along with Dani are working with Jen and Kail to try and keep Kail in the game.

-Jessica says that she feels she is the most powerful player in the house this week because each side needs her vote and feels there will be a lot of butt kissing coming her way.

-I really think that Kail will finally be
evicted this week. I don't think that D&D will get the votes to swing their way. I also think
that D&D's days will be numbered after this
all goes down Thursday. They had better hope that either Dick or Jen wins HOH otherwise I think that one or possibly both of them will be put up on the block.. Thats it for me. I look forward to seeing what all you guys think of what is happening in the house.

Aug 6th Canadian Idol Recap

Tonight the contestants sang hits from Queen and their mentors were band members Brian May and Roger Taylor..

01. Brian Melo sang Too Much Love Will Kill You.
After hearing Brian May and Roger Taylor say how good they thought Brian Melo did in practice I had high hopes for his performance. And let me tell you he did not disappoint me in the least. It was a huge improvement over his performance last week. He did a great job and I loved his tone all throughout. He was very passionate. There were a few pitchy moments but still was a really good job. The Judges said: incredible, well done, moving, powerful and emotional, believed in the emotion but was pitchy all over the place.

02. Greg Neufeld sang We Are The Champions.
I was pretty nervous about this song since it is soooo famous and held up to a high standard but Greg did his thing and made it a very soulful version. He truly made it his own and rocked it out. I loved his tone and control. He had great intensity. Awesome job! The Judges said: respect it, real singer, you are the champion, just short intensity wise, perfect version for you, fantastic!!

03. Carly Rae Jepson sang Killer Queen
I didn't like it at all. I felt as if I was watching Broadway instead of a rock song. When she started off it sounded just like every other song she has song so far nothing new. There were some bad notes. On the plus side she is quite the performer, very energetic and using every inch of the stage. The Judges said: Impressed, gutsy, cool, distinct/unique, Fabulous, really liked, good use of stage.

04. Matt Rapley sang Under Pressure
At times it was painful to listen to. He hit some really bad notes and at times it was like he was shouting instead of singing. Plus like last week I didn't feel he really connected with the song. He just appeared to be singing a song he had no clue about. The Judges said: Some strong notes, drowned out by background vocalists but the parts he could hear were good, hit the spot, enjoyed it, fantastic job, killed it, impressed.

05. Dwight D'eon sang Tie Your Mother Down
It was a pretty good performance. I would give him the most improved award. There is a tone to his voice I just don't care for but he made a great effort and it was pretty rocking. The Judges said: Vocals 7 performance 10, put your heart into it, really good, perfect song for your voice, wicked, back to being a contender.

06. Tara Oram sang Head Long
She reminded me of Faith Hill tonight with her country rock girl performance. She did good with the song and made it fit into her own style. She really had fun and I enjoyed watching her perform. The Judges said: Well done, born performer, loved watching you, sang it from gut, really physical performance, really special.

07. Jaydee Bixby sang I Want to Break Free
He made it very country surprise surprise. The vocals weren't bad, he did a good job however,his facial expressions did not fit the sentiment of the song and made it feel very corny to me. The Judges said: Elvis is still in the building, oddly appealing, sang well but didn't get message across, you smiled and its suppose to be a serious song like Brian May told you but you obviously didn't listen, good to have you back.

Overall I think it was a great night for all the singers. In my personal opinion the person I would pick to be eliminated this week would be Matt Rapley. Week after week I don't like his performances even though the judges keep saying he has the best potential of all the contestants ever. I just don't see it. My pick of the night is no shocker, Greg Neufeld. In my opinion he has it all. The looks, the voice, the passion and the personality.

I cant even guess who Canada will send home, maybe Jaydee Bixby.

I also have a gripe about the background singers. I wish they would do away with them altogether. Half the time they are drowning out the contestant. In my opinion the background singers are not all that good because I cringe every time I hear them. This is suppose to be a singing competition and I want to hear the contestant to be able to judge if I like them or not. The BG singers don't need to be there. I also wish they would turn down the bands volume a little. Thanks for listening to me :P . That's it for this week.

Van's Thoughts

This marks the first edition of Van's Thoughts, where I discuss some interesting moments to me in BB this week and turn it into a great discussion! Post your thoughts on the forum and don't hold back, or add more opinions on other related happenings in the house.

The two things that stand out to me in the past day or so looking at the feeds, reading recaps etc... are these:

Kail tries to leave the BB house Her mic was on for a moment in the DR and she clearly wanted to leave but was coaxed into staying (obviously) by the powers that be. Jen has also thought about it, meaning that Dick is getting to them both more than they let on. i wouldn't be surprised if BB made him tone it down if they ask again, although i find it all extremely entertaining. all of the arguments and blunt talk in the house are making this season very exciting, much more so than All-Stars.

Eric possibly in trouble Current word is that Eric has been found out about voting to evict Kail and not Nick, and it has come to a head with Dick and others to the point where he is now considered a terrible liar and threat to them. They want to backdoor him after POV, putting Jen and Kail up this week but sending neither home again. Eric was so careful, but the vote coupled with the fact that the houseguests apparently saw one of the banner planes outing Amber and Eric as liars in the game have really put him in a tough spot. I've actually come to like Eric so I hope he doesn't go.

Sara and Dominic are voted out tonight. it's hard when it's this close to the end because everyone is so good. i agree on him leaving but i wasn't ready to see sara go though.

So You Think You Can Dance - August 1 2007

this week each pair had to dance two times in two different styles .....

Sara and Danny - Tango

i barely looked at him at all. i like her more each week. pretty hot. loved the pretzely move, hated his fan, soooooo un-manly. loved her outfit. loved her in general.



Lauren and Dominic - Krump

is he wearing pany hose? not in sync. messed up moves i think but i don't really get krump so i don't know. never liked him. wasn't gritty enough or something. seemed fake. hated the song.



Lacey and Neil - Latin Jazz

love her dress. didn't know he was so cut. pretty hot. (my son said "he has lots of emotion when he dance, he's weird too .... he took off his shirt) i've always loved lacey and loved her here. i disagree with mary and nigel about it lacking in chemistry .... if they want more chemistry they shouldn't make them switch partners all the time.




Sabra and Pasha - Broadway

never liked her much, she's good i guess but meh. always loved him. broadway's not my fave style but it was good. i don't get why people are so hot on sabra. choreography didn't wow me but i always love watching pasha dance.




Sara and Danny - hip hop

love the song. i disagree with the judges because i loved the outfits, they're probably too old to get it. danny seems akward, not really feeling him. kind of out of sync for a bit. love sara as always. great choreography.




Lauren and Dominic - rhamba

dress very hot. he's dorky but did pretty good with it although i think he smiled too much. nice kiss at the end! i didn't completely want to hurt him like i normally do.




Lacey and Neil - contempory

can barely see to write through tears. a beautiful, emotional, graceful, lovely, enchanting interpretation of Mia's moves. LOVED LOVED LOVED!!




Pasha and sabra - quick step

loved the outfits, so sparkly! from what i know of quick step it was great. pasha as always is a pleasure to watch!

Dancing with the Stars premiere
