The Bachelor - Hometown Visits
So tonight our buff Brad visits the hometowns of the remaining girls. This should be interesting considering the previews. In the previews we see that Sheena's mom is a astrology nut, Bettina's dad is a snob, DeAhnna's family is a bunch of crazy greek nuts and Jenni is obsessed with being a Phoenix Suns Dancer.
First up is Jenni and she meets Brad at the center where she won her first dance competition. Her prize, $50. After she explains all this to him, she performs a quick dance to show off her moves and her assets. Nest they head over to her mom's hair salon which appears to double as her home. There we meet her dad, step mom, mom and her grandma. During lunch, grandma seems to be the type of woman who speaks her mind, no matter what. And what a pistol she is. She asks Brad if he is a tee-totaler since he is a bar owner and when the subject of kids comes up and Brad says he wants a lot of kids, grandma says that no way will her granddaughter be a baby making machine. LOL grandma! Mom takes Brad away to one of her hair washing stations and proceeds to wash Brad's hair. I guess you can tell a lot by someones hair. During the wash job she asks Brad why he is still single if he works in a bar. Of course Brad gives the stock answer of "I don't meet women like Jenni in the bar". Good one Brad! Back to the table and Dad wants to give a toast and he toasts to the fact that the Phoenix Suns have accepted Jenni as a dancer, which makes her very happy. I am not sure if this will bode well for her and Brad but she tells Brad that she has to do it and doesn't think being long distance for a year will hurt them if she is his choosen one.
Sheena is up next and she meets Brad at the marina where mom and dad come floating in on a big boat. We get some fun time with these two as Brad is treated to a innertube ride before they all settle down on the front of the boat and this is where we learn that Sheena's mom is a kook. It is now that she reveals that she is a star worshiper and she believes that Brad and Sheena are meant to be according to the stars. Once they all head back home, Brad has some one on one with Sheena's kooky mom. During this one on one, Sheena's mom goes off on some tirad about Sheena being the "one"....maybe not Brad's one, but someone's one....hun.....She also tells Brad that "we are ready to commit". Another hun.....since when does the mother commit to the boyfriend. This woman needs to read her stars again...she is out there! The date ends with Sheena and Brad in the jacuzzi and Sheena worried that maybe her mom embarrased her. Brad says no...to be polite....that it was great to see where she comes from.
DeAhnna is next in sunny Georgia and she arrives with a gift. Wanna guess what she brings him....one guess is all you will need, I guarantee it. That's it....Georgia peaches...how original. We get to meet dad, brother, sister and step mom. During alone time with Dad, Brad asks him if he thinks this process can be real. Dad of course says yes because he sees the sparkle in Didi's eyes. Brad agrees. Didi's shows up with a photo album so she can show him pictures of her mother. In case you were wondering, her mother died of cancer when she was young. After looking through several pages of photos, Didi stops him from proceeding further and says he will get to see the rest when he returns again. All of a sudden, the rest of the family shows up and right away you see this is the part of the family that cherishes their greek heritage. After several shots, they all begin to dance and Brad gives us his best "Opah". Good times...
Our last hometown date will prove to be the most real. Bettina greets Brad in Washing DC in what appears to maybe be pj's. She has a tank top on and what could be confused with sweats, but they look like pj bottoms. My daughter wears stuff like that to bed so that is what I am believing she is wearing. Brad gets to meet her dad, mom, step mom and sister. All a bunch of judgemental idiots. Dad is the first and the biggest of the judgementals. When Brad revelas he never finished college you could see Dad cring. He is a professor so anything short of a college degree is not acceptable. We see dad in a confessional as he is heading out for private time with Bettina and he tells us that Bettina's ex-husband is as good as they get and she will never ever find anyone better. During this private time, Brad is cornered by mom and step mom who tells him that he can't play with someones heart. They both basically accuse him of leading the girls on. Apparently these two ladies have no idea how this process works. Brad and Bettina leave the house and head out to talk. It is during this time that Brad lets Bettina know he does not appreciate being judged. His words "I may not have an education but I am intelligent enough to know better than to judge someone". It is hear where Bettina seals her fate and she tells Brad "We'll I don't look that good on paper either"......open mouth, inset foot. You can see it in Brad's face that he is really upset at the fact that these people are judging him because he doesn't have a college degree and he owns 4 bars. Forget the fact he is a self made millionaire....
It's rose ceremony time and of course there is no pre-party or one-on-one time. It's cut to the chase. Didi gets the first rose, no surprise there. Jenni is next and again no surprise. What does surprise me is that Bettina gets the next rose. I was sure he was gonna keep Sheena one more week, especially after that disaster of a hometown date with Bettina. We learn that Brad sends Sheena home because he just doesn't think he is the perfect guy for her and she deserves a perfect guy. Sheena tells Brad that he is allshe ever thinks of....the first thing when she wakes up and the last thing when she goes to bed. But alas to no avail, Sheena is sent home and more than likely back to her ex-boyfriend.
The previews from next week tell us that the fantasy dates will all be in Cabo. I can't remember when all the fantasy dates were in the same place....were they ever?
until then............
